Greetings from Miami! I’m currently taking a little weekend trip to visit some family and catch some rays here, but of course I would not forget to share my favorite makeup videos on YouTube to accompany your weekend slothing activities. This week’s favorites include a ‘best nude lip products,’ round up, a gray-roots hair product for women demo and a ‘what happened when you do Instagram makeup in real life.’
Grab a cocktail, get comfy and join me from afar!
I’m a new subscriber of Jamie Paige’s channel mainly because, well, we have extremely similar hair and eye color. I can relate to that. She’s a Canadian vlogger/makeup artist and I really enjoyed several of her videos this past weekend. Nude lips have come a long way since the concealer lips of the mid 1990s-early 2000s, and Jamie shares quite a few awesome picks in the more beige-peachy-warm light pinks and even a couple of light mauve shades. Needless to say, I want all.
Angie from Hot and Flashy is a 50something beauty lover and although we don’t exactly share the same age demographic, we do share a serious love of skin care, so that’s why I love her channel. Plus, I find a few new products that I can recommend to my mom through her. I know a ton of my girlfriends are already struggling with the early signs of gray hairs and especially if you have dark hair, I can imagine it be very annoying. There’s been a few of these new spray root cover ups to hit the market recently, and it was cool to see how they worked in real life. Would you try something like this?
I’m no stranger to makeup artist, Jordan Liberty’s awesome YT channel. He keeps it quick, informative and honest. As I’ve mentioned a couple of times before on my blog, I am not a huge fan of the “Instagram/YT” makeup trend where everything is super dramatic and not at all how you’d wear makeup on the daily… let alone a special occasion. It was interesting to see the application technique performed by a true artist and how the model reacted to seeing herself in the end. What’s your thoughts on the Instagram makeup trend? Let me know in the comments.
