I’ve reached that point where I have a face mask for everything – breakouts, dryness, dehydration, flakiness, overall dullness – you name it, I got a mask for you. Since I’m constantly testing new beauty products, these are my current go-to’s for all of my skin woes I’m battling at any given time.
Freeman Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask, $4-5 | This budget buy has been a staple in my collection since my college days. It gets the job done without totally obliterating my skin of any natural moisture. The clay is creamy, easier to rinse off than other clay masks and works to gently dry out a breakout or alleviate excessive oiliness.
Natura Bisse Stabilizing Cleansing Mask, $54 | THE MUST HAVE FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN! This is a lifesaver and one I will not be without now that I know its power. A little goes a long way and the tube is huge, so don’t fret about the price. This is a potent blend of ingredients to fight your breakouts and blackheads without any mercy whatsoever. Use for just 5-15 minutes (no longer) one or two nights in a row and you’ll be hooked.
Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask and Scrub*, $28 | A perfect two in one – this mask is charcoal based and works in as little as five minutes (it’s quick drying). Once it dries, while you’re rinsing it off, it has little micro exfoliators to scrub away your dead skin leaving behind a glowing, detoxified complexion.
Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Intensely-Hydrating Masque, $38-54 | This one is tricky to use. Hyaluronic Acid by nature can be a bit sticky and since this formula has such a high concentration of it, it can be a nuisance. You can apply a thin layer and sleep with it on (but I found it to be too sticky to sleep with). I prefer to apply a thicker layer of it and leave it on for as long as possible (typically a Friday night in or wake up on a Saturday and let this do its magic while I eat breakfast and slowly get ready). It’s one of my dry-skinned husband’s favorite products.
Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask*, $162 | The
fairest priciest of them all! I received this as a gift, and not sure I would have ever given it a second glance had I not been gifted it. However, what it does to your skin (if you’re dry) is magic. It gives baby soft skin to the scaliest of faces. I save this for post-sun, post-airplane travel and especially post Retin-A usage.
First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Bouncy Mask, $38 | Such an underrated gem! This mask gives me the closest results to a real life facial at home. The jelly bouncy texture is cooling on the skin and promises to be a multi-tasking wizard at improving dullness, reducing pore size and improving skin plumpness instantly. Very refreshing yet calming to the skin.
PUR Blue Agave Mask*, $26 | The most FUN mask to wear because of its peel-off nature, the PUR Blue Agave mask is the most soothing/cooling on the skin of the bunch. Green Tea, Ginseng and Vitamin B ‘energize’ the skin with this mask. Revives tired looking skin. A perfect pick me up mid-week.
If you’re wondering what my favorite SHEET MASKS are, check out PART I. I felt my sheet mask favorites needed their own post entirely. I hope this helps you find a new masking love! Tell me what some of your face mask favorites are in the comments.
