The nude lip has a way of being a safe bet, yet it has the horrible ability at making even the best of us look, well, corpse-like. I’m perpetually on the hunt for nude lipsticks that give me the glamorous effect of a Kardashian-Jenner, without requiring MacGyver-esque skill. I need something I can swipe on to give my lips their fullest effect and head out the door knowing I won’t need to reapply in an hour. Hello, Nude Kate…
I mean, let’s just take a moment to appreciate the gorgeousness of Charlotte Tilbury makeup. Honestly. I die a little at how fahncyyy it is. If you’ve been a faithful follower of my blog (which, duh, you should be), you know I have a huge girl crush on Charlotte Tilbury. I’ve met her (here), found out her biggest beauty tip for women (here), reviewed her famous Bitch Perfect and Pillow Talk lip products (here), and did a complete round-up and review of my collection of her products that I own (here).
Why Nude Kate
I mentioned in my full collection review that I had planned on picking up another one of her lipsticks in Penelope Pink (a nude pink), but after going into Nordstrom and trying it, along with Hepburn Honey (a light rose beige) and Nude Kate (a peachy nude); I selected Nude Kate as the winner. Penelope Pink was just too similar to Bitch Perfect (a soft warm peachy pink) on my lips. Hepburn Honey was pretty, but was honestly the same shade of my lips and it just appeared like a nice sheen. Nude Kate was the upset of the bunch.
The sales girl and I were very surprised at how flattering Nude Kate appeared on my medium/olive complexion. Initially, we thought it would simply be too pale. We both assumed Hepburn Honey would be what I was looking for – a more nude version of Bitch Perfect. As soon as I swiped on Nude Kate, however; she was the first to admit that it instantly plumped up my lips and made them appear fuller. Sold.
Why Iconic Nude
Iconic Nude lip liner was not a totally planned purchase, but I can’t stress enough how worthwhile the Charlotte Tilbury lip pencils are. They are SO budge-proof. I do believe I have admitted CT’s lip pencils are the lip pencils that changed my mind about… lip pencils. Once I swatched Iconic Nude, it reminded me instantly of MAC’s Stripdown (a light, warm beige-brown), but the staying power of CT’s pencils is what gets me. Nobody has time for precisely applying lip pencil throughout the day. I want something I can apply and will stay put for hours.
Why Charlotte Tilbury
The bottom line with Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks and lip liners is they perform to the highest standard a lipstick and lip liner can perform. The lipsticks are creamy, super pigmented, extremely hydrating and they have this highly unexplainable impressive staying power for a creamy/hydrating lipstick – more so than my YSL Rouge Pur Couture (which has more shade selection) and NARS Audacious (which is easier to access at more retailers). The feeling on the lips is that of a thicker balm – not at all greasy but still impart a pretty sheen to the lips. The lip liners don’t move, last for hours, extend the wear of lipstick, define and naturally ‘cheat’ your natural lip line and nicely compliment a variety of not just Tilbury’s lipsticks, but any you may already own. These are the Bentley of lip products, in my opinion.
Charlotte Tilbury has several adorable lipstick/lip liner/lip gloss sets available for the holidays and I think they’re perfectly packaged for the beauty lover in your life, the woman who never splurges on herself (think: moms, grandmas) or simply a gift for you. I personally recommend these:

I would not utilize affiliate links if I did not support the brand/product wholeheartedly. 🙂
