I really don’t understand how it’s already February. Whattt. I basically feel like we just went from Oct. 31-Feb. 1 in three days. But with February comes time for January beauty favorites! I was heavily focused on face makeup this month along with a mighty appearance by a new little budget eyeliner from the drugstore. 2015 is over and if you’ve read my last post about my blogiversary’s $200 beauty and skin care giveaway here (enter now!), you’ll know a lot has happened this year for Brighter, Darling and it is now time to share my all-time 2015 beauty favorites.
This year, I discovered a couple completely new-to-me products and the items I’m sharing are my most-used, most-recommended of the year. Continue reading to find out why these are some must-tries for your collection.
Last month, I did a fun #TBT to my favorite makeup from back in my high school days. A lot of my readers and friends enjoyed it, so I wanted to continue to do one for my college makeup! You’ll notice ALL of these items are still around today, easily accessible (hey, I didn’t graduate college THAT long ago) and definitely show the early signs of a more expensive makeup habit.
Keep reading to find out why I loved what I used back in the day and if I would still use these products now…
I thought I’d do something fun and nostalgic this week and reflect back on some of my all time favorite high school makeup items. In traveling down memory lane, I discovered my taste in shades hasn’t strayed much (is that good or bad?) and that several of my go-to items are actually still in production and quite successful.
Let’s take a look at what my every day makeup looked like back in the early 2000s, shall we? More details and favorites after the jump!
I’m really excited about October’s favorites because quite a few are super affordable (under $15 or less)! I can’t even tell you the amount of compliments I got on one of these products this month – from men, friends, strangers and even my shampoo lady at the hair salon. This month was a good one.
I only create posts about ‘favorites’ when there’s a few items that truly claim my full attention during a given month. In my September 2015 makeup favorites, I had an amazing rediscovery, as well as a surprise budget mascara, splurgetastic lip balm and other holy grail makeup gems I fully endorse adding to your must-try list.

June 2015 makeup favorites reminded me why I love shopping for cosmetics so much. It took me back to a time before Google, YouTube and online reviews. A time where I would go to the drugstore with my mom, we would simply pick out products based on the packaging claims; bring them home hoping to find a diamond in the rough.
Hellloooo there! Nothing helps define your ‘must haves’ like packing to move. I consider myself a pretty experienced slash professional mover at this point (eight moves in the last 12 years), so when it’s time to narrow down a small stash of products to have easy access to while everything else gets packed up, it sort of defines ‘favorites’ on its own. Let’s check out my April 2015 makeup favorites…
January certainly flew by for me! I had a few makeup shopping sprees with gift card assistance and some sprees without gift card assistance because … YOLO. I love that my January 2015 makeup favorites include a variety of high-end and budget buys, though.
Anyway, back to the important stuff. Makeup. I had a couple totally random surprises, some rediscoveries and some highly-hyped fail safes in this month’s lineup.
2014 was quite a year for me! I got married, finished my Master of Business Administration, moved across the country and started a new job. Identifying my favorite beauty products of the year was easy, simply because I
have restraint problems swiping my credit card at every store that carries cosmetics did my own makeup for my wedding and made sure I used the best products possible for my desired look. Because of that experience, my 2014 beauty favorites truly include some high performers I’m excited to share!
